Twiglets totally rock - the look, the taste, the texture. But my long-planned and much-anticipated purchase resulted in a box of 16 bags from Amazon with 6 open bags in it -- all split at the bottom center. Two are so bad the contents spilled all over making the other bags sticky. Since the problem was inside a sealed Jacob's shipping box with no visible damage - and since the twiglets in the bags are not crushed (just soft from being open :-( ), I think the problem is at the manufacturer end. Is Amazon knowingly buying seconds to keep the cost low?? Did the bags burst due to air pressure during import? Did the glue fail? Did the machine fail to line up the bottoms of the bag correctly before glueing? Whatever the reason(s), I am horribly disappointed. Soft twiglets still rock, but they just ain't quite the bomb.A wheat stick covered in marmite and baked. In my opinion there isn't anything better than these little crunchy sticks. My mother grew up in England and passed on her taste for twiglets to all of her children. We got them only on special occasions and they were not easy to come by. We were paying upwards of five dollars a bag at the local import store and most the time they were less than fresh. With amazon they have never been stale and they are very affordable.Oh my Twiglets, how I miss you. They are so hard to get in the US and now they are rarely in stock on Amazon any more (and when they are, the postage is a killer). These have been around in the UK for years and now I live in SF, I seek these things out whenever possible. For those that don't know, they are brown, shaped like twigs (duh!) and taste like marmite. Oh god, I'm hungry now! These are a nutritious snack, but the taste may be very off-putting to some. They are crisp and tasty, but they have a distinctive "burnt" flavor and takes a bit to get used to.My family lived in England many years ago, and we all have loved Twiglets since I can't remember. I can get them rarely stateside near me, but I would have to pay about $7.00 for a bag this size. I gave my 3 siblings and mom 4 bags each for Christmas for a total of $35.00! I loved the free shipping...we will be ordering again soon...thanks!!! TacieI confess, I am addicted to all things Marmite! Twiglets are no exception. I avoided picking these up stateside for the longest time, because I always felt the price set by specialty importers was unfair. Amazon now carries these and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the 5.25oz bag wasn't the smaller bag I am used to.I love twiglets. Perhaps they are an aquired taste! I'm from England and had trouble getting them not stale from small retailers who slow ship them to the stores. These come crunchy and British delicious!LTwiglets are the most scrunchiest (scrumptious and crunchy), uniquely delicious AND addictive snack.Imported from England and not easy to find in the gourmet food stores in Manhattan so I stock up on them at Amazon. Not for every taste - so I'd suggest you purchase the single bag first.
